Job Title: Funeral Home Assistant
Schedule: Full-Time, with on-call (2-3 evenings/week)
No prior experience required – we will teach you
Description of duties:
Decedent removal/transportation (often requires heavy lifting)
Crematory operation & Cremains processing
Urn burials and scattering of ashes
Funeral and Memorial Service assisting
Couriering of documents & packages
Light vehicle & property maintenance and indoor janitorial duties
Typing/proofing editing of obituaries
Designing, printing/folding memorial folders
Applicant Qualities:
Professional: It is imperative that you arrive on-time and appropriately attired to scheduled shifts. We are a small team and rely heavily on each other.
Discrete: This is a ‘must have’ in our industry; we work in a small community and hold the privacy of our at-needs families in the highest regard, and our required compliance with HIPPA is to be taken very seriously.
Teachable: We are all constantly learning and honing our skills.
Compassionate: This requires impartiality when it comes to religion, politics, life choices, etc.
Requirements:
Valid Oregon Drivers License
Associates Degree (in-progress will be considered)
Vaccination(s): Whichever is/are currently required for those working in health carewhere contact with blood-borne pathogens is a possibility
Reliable Cell Phone/Service
Live within 15 miles of the Funeral Home
