Latimer Quilt and Textile is a working museum that hosts multiple fiber craft groups and guilds, a changing display of quilt and fiber displays, and houses an extensive collection of quilts, woven coverlets, and smaller collections of fiber-related items. Visitors come from all over the world to see what we have!
A strong candidate for the manager’s position at Latimer Quilt and Textile Center will have the following attributes:
Retail Sales skills are required, including operating a cash register and credit card machine.
Merchandising experience, including ordering, sales, and inventory of goods for sale.
Customer Service experience; greeting visitors, taking entrance fees, answering questions, and answering phones.
Able to work independently.
Willingness to help put up and take down artists’ shows at the museum. Should be able to lift 25lbs.
Must be able to take care of the facility: vacuum rugs and clean bathrooms.
Primary computer and data entry skills are required.
Able to manage membership list and annual dues collection.
Able to manage consignment sales and associated bookkeeping.
High School Diploma or GED required.
