About Us
We are a family-owned oyster farm in Netarts Bay focused on growing high-quality oysters and building a thoughtful, farm-to-table business. As we expand, we’re looking for someone experienced in oyster or shellfish farming to help run day-to-day farm operations.
This is a part-time role with a unique schedule that follows the tides—perfect for someone looking to supplement their income with meaningful, hands-on work on the water.
We operate with a boat stored nearby in Bay City and a sorting facility right in Netarts Bay, so everything is close and efficient.
The Role
We’re looking for a knowledgeable and dependable Oyster Farmer / Operations Manager to help maintain and grow the farm on Netarts Bay.
Responsibilities include:
– Navigating to and from the farm via boat
– Flipping and maintaining oyster bags on Netarts Bay
– Sorting oysters by size and quality at our sorting facility
– Monitoring growth and overall farm health
– Assisting with general farm upkeep and organization
– Working efficiently during tide windows
Requirements
– Experience with oyster farming and/or shellfish cultivation
– Comfortable operating a small boat
– Ability to navigate using GPS navigation (farm access path is narrow)
– Strong understanding of tides and how they impact farm work
– Physically capable of lifting, bending, and working outdoors in all conditions
– Reliable, self-directed, and detail-oriented
Bonus Qualifications
– Familiarity with Netarts Bay
– Experience working independently on aquaculture sites
– General mechanical or boat maintenance skills
Schedule & Availability
– Part-time (2-3 days a week in Summer, 1 day a week in Winter)
– Hours vary based on tides (early mornings, evenings, or split shifts depending on weather conditions)
– Flexible and ideal for someone with another job or seasonal work
