Hoffman Center for the Arts
The Hoffman Center for the Arts is a community arts organization on the north Oregon coast, with five program areas spanning clay, gallery exhibitions, visual and literary arts, horticulture, and youth art education.
We’re hiring a contractor to provide maintenance for our building at 594 Laneda Avenue. You’ll keep the interior and exterior of the building looking clean and welcoming. This is a great fit for someone reliable, locally based, and comfortable with hands-on, physical work indoors and outdoors in what can often be cold, windy, dynamic coastal weather.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sweep sidewalks, entryways, and the building perimeter
Remove leaves, nests, needles, debris, etc. from walkways, porch, and parking areas
Clean ground-level exterior windows and signage
Empty indoor trash and recycling
Take recycling to the dump as needed
Light landscaping along the building perimeter (the adjacent Wonder Garden has its own volunteer team)
Learn about and maintain our various systems, including HVAC, alarms, security, and more
Observe the property carefully. Notify the Executive Director of any issues requiring professional repair, including gutters, roof, exterior plumbing, or electrical
Seasonal tasks as needed, including leaf removal in fall and post-storm cleanup
Replace burned-out interior and exterior light bulbs
Spider web removal from entryways and exterior eaves
Coordinate with supporting vendors during service visits
Flag when supplies need restocking
QUALIFICATIONS
Based in Tillamook County or able to come to Manzanita regularly (required)
Reliable transportation
Comfortable with hands-on physical work outdoors in all weather conditions
Self-directed and consistent! Show up, do the work, and don’t need to be managed closely
Good communicator who can flag problems promptly and follow through
TERMS
Hours: ~3 hours per week, with a flexible cadence that may shift seasonally
Compensation: $25 per hour, 1099 contract
