The Pastega Activity Center (PAC) General Manager provides overall leadership and operational management of the Pastega Activity Center, ensuring an exceptional guest experience while achieving financial, operational, and mission-driven goals.
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of PAC strategy and operations, including bowling, food and beverage, arcade, retail, facility maintenance, guest services, leagues and events, staff leadership, budgeting, and business development. This position develops a positive team culture, maintains high operational standards, and works collaboratively with YMCA leadership to grow the PAC as a premier family entertainment destination and an important revenue-generating enterprise of the Tillamook County Family YMCA.
The General Manager serves as a member of the YMCA Executive Staff and is expected to model the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Inclusion.
Leadership & Staff Development
- Provide overall leadership for all PAC operations.
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, supervise, evaluate, and develop department staff.
- Build a positive, accountable, customer-focused culture.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and ongoing performance coaching.
- Develop succession plans and identify future leaders.
- Ensure staffing levels meet operational needs while controlling labor costs.
- Lead by example through visible, hands-on leadership.
Business Operations
- Direct daily operations of bowling, arcade, kitchen, bar, retail, maintenance, and guest services.
- Ensure consistently high standards of guest service throughout the facility.
- Develop and maintain efficient operating procedures.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Oversee leagues, tournaments, parties, corporate events, and community events.
- Ensure equipment, bowling systems, and facility assets remain operational.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, labor, food costs, beverage costs, inventory, and profitability.
- Analyze business performance using key performance indicators.
- Develop action plans to improve financial performance.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and internal controls.
- Prepare regular operational and financial reports for YMCA leadership.
Food & Beverage Operations
- Oversee all kitchen, bar, concessions, and food service operations.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, presentation, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor food and beverage costs and inventory.
- Develop menus, promotions, and pricing in collaboration with YMCA leadership.
- Maintain compliance with all health department and food safety regulations.
Facility & Asset Management
- Oversee the appearance, cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of the facility.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance programs.
- Prioritize repairs and capital improvement needs.
- Work closely with YMCA Facilities staff and outside vendors.
- Ensure bowling equipment and facility systems remain operational.
Sales, Marketing & Business Development
- Increase utilization of the PAC through leagues, tournaments, parties, corporate events, and community partnerships.
- Collaborate with YMCA marketing staff to promote programs and special events.
- Develop promotional campaigns to increase revenue.
- Build relationships with schools, businesses, civic organizations, and community partners.
- Seek opportunities to expand earned revenue.
Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain compliance with food service, OLCC, OSHA, fire, and health department requirements.
- Ensure staff follow all YMCA risk management policies.
- Investigate and document accidents and incidents.
- Promote a safe environment for staff and guests.
Inventory & Purchasing
- Oversee purchasing for food, beverages, retail merchandise, bowling supplies, and operational equipment.
- Maintain inventory controls and minimize waste.
- Establish vendor relationships and negotiate pricing where appropriate.
- Conduct regular inventory audits.
YMCA Leadership
- Participate as a member of the YMCA Executive Staff.
- Support organization-wide initiatives and strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with other YMCA departments.
- Represent the YMCA and PAC within the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Recreation Management, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent management experience may substitute for formal education.
Experience
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible management experience.
- Experience managing multiple departments and supervising staff.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.
- Hospitality, entertainment, restaurant, recreation, bowling center, or retail management experience strongly preferred.

Certifications
Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain).
- OLCC Service Permit (or ability to obtain).
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- ServSafe Manager certification preferred.
Working Conditions
- May be required to sit, stand or maintain physical activity (including climbing stairs) for extended periods of time
- May perform activities such as bending, kneeling, and squatting
- May be exposed to noisy conditions (70-80 decibel) for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be alert at all times, keeping safety in mind
- Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor environment and participant’ well-being
- Must possess auditory, verbal, and visual capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone and in person Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
